About Guildford Writers
We are a writers' circle, meeting every other Tuesday at the Guildford Institute, during term time, from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.
New members are welcome to attend and see what we are like, although if you are a new writer, we recommend you first try courses either at the Guildford Institute or at the University of Surrey.
We welcome dedicated writers with some experience, as we are not a teaching class. We provide constructive comments and support, and most of us are writing novels, although there is a fair mix of poetry, some non-fiction and 'memoirs'.
Most attendees bring copies of their work to pass round so we can read as well as listen. (Usually between 8 – 12 readers but bring along about five copies as we share).
Although there is no membership fee we ask that attendees join the Guildford Institute – see link guildford institute [www.guildford-institute.org] and we ask for a voluntary contribution of £1 a night which is passed on to the Institute.
